Demystifying Abdominal Myths


There are numerous myths and facts about how to get a six pack abs and flat stomach.

Let’s look at a couple of them.

1. Myth Target the abdominals muscles and lose fat only there.
    Fact You will have to loss fat all over your body. 
   
2. Myth You have to do tons of sit-ups or crunches to see positive results.
    Fact When you train your chest, legs, arms etc. you don’t do hundreds of reps. Abdominals is no different from the other muscles. You can have a quality abs workout by doing smaller reps. It is not quantity, but the quality of your workouts.
   
3. Myth Women should not train the abs muscles the same way as men do.
    Fact It does not matter what sex you are, we all have muscles. Women can train with the same equipment or exercises that men do.
   
4. Myth You must train the abdominal muscles everyday.
    Fact Give your abdominal muscles some rest. When you train any body part in the gym you will not train the same muscle everyday. The same applies with your abdominals muscles. Skip a day.
   
5. Myth When you stop exercising the muscles will turn into fat
    Fact If you keep yourself active and eat healthy food and drink water you will keep your six pack abs. 
   
6. Myth Using different fat burners will help to reduce fat around abs
    Fact Fat is burned all over the body and not just in one part. The best fat burner is the food that you eat.
   
7. Myth You have to go on a strict diet
    Fact You don’t necessary have to go on a very strict diet. There are ways to enjoy what you eat. Just know when and what amount of food you can eat. Watch you calorie intake and do your cardio exercises.
8. Myth If I use weights my abs will look better
    Fact Not true, to sculpt your abs you will need a mixture of good nutrition and exercise. You don’t need heavy weights.
   
9. Myth After fattening meals I can burn off the fat.
    Fact To burn off your calorie intake you will have to exercise a lot. In general people don’t exercise enough to burn all the calories they take in. The 
unburned excess energy will eventually turn into fat. To combat this you will need to eat smaller portions of food and don’t do workouts with a full stomach.
