Crunches is the most popular used abdominal exercise in gyms today. It is a very good isolation exercise for the entire rectus abdominis (abdominals).

How to do it:

 

1. Lie flat on your back with your legs bent, and your feet planted on the floor.                        

2. Place your right foot across your left knee.

3. Place left hand on the side of your head and your right hand on the left side of abdomen area.

4. Curl your body up with a twisting movement.

5. Bring your left shoulder toward your right knee.

6. Unwind and go slowly to the starting position.
